In THE GUTTER, when the frequently fired Walt (Shameik Moore) lands a job as a bartender and shoe shiner at the local bowling alley AlleyCatz, he feels like he’s finally found a home. When money troubles threaten AlleyCatz, Walt is pressured by former pro bowler and current drinking champion Skunk (D’Arcy Carden) to embrace his role as the greatest bowler ever to walk this earth. As Walt’s love of big paychecks and brash playing style dominate the pro tour, his detractors, including ratings-obsessed news anchor Angelo Powers and recently retired bowling legend Linda “The Crusher” Curson (Susan Sarandon), furiously try to snuff out Walt’s flame before it burns too hot.
