Sister Redd: Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps
Chronology
A detective and a nun investigate a series of heinous, seemingly personal crimes while grappling with personal issues and uncovering a sinister web that raises more questions than answers. Ed Lachlan’s Mustang is the same color and license plate as the car in The Italian Job 2WQI332. Ryan Murphy used to be good at telling different stories, but now he’s feeling parts of it that he thinks were meant to show him that it’s about art versus fetish.
I feel like some nuns are less conservative, but the way she acted was insane
The lead actress was an unstable detective who wasn’t sure she was going to keep her job and who couldn’t seem to find a way out of the paper bag. Who would honestly discuss a new case with a stranger claiming to be a nun with no qualifications? The priest just didn’t seem to fit his role, as Murphy had apparently tried to play Evan Peters & it failed.
Redd was a strange character who seemed too personal to the husband she loved
I have a feeling there is more to the story, only time will tell. The only thing that was grotesque was the daughter in the first episode wearing something intentionally tight & eating enough food for two people. If it’s important to you that she’s pretty or whatever, you should focus on her figure because that’s apparently how tall people are perceived.
The camera work was fine, but nothing outstanding either
I know this is a two-part review, but it’s like another season of AHS with a different name. The series is full of cliches & storylines, maybe stereotypes, but nothing really original. Check this out & see for yourself, it may be that the review will be revised after the series ends.
Edited Update – Just like in AHS: NYC, Ryan Murphy suddenly flips the switch in terms of story coherence in the final episodes, he’s probably calling it artsy or a twist, but he shouldn’t let the viewer feel any other feelings towards the series other than disjointed/confused and dissatisfied
anytime soon.
